Why does your fruit and nut granola contain 12% of the recommended daily intake of fibre, but 15% of the recommended daily intake of carbohydrates (much of it sugar)? It's supposed to be a health food, but if I try to get all the dietary fibre I need out of your Granola, I'll end up with diabetes first. Now *that's* nuts.

Hi Adam! If you're looking for a lower-sugar organic option, try our Dark Chocolate Almond bars. They taste great, but they have 1/3 less sugar, and 5x more Fiber than the Fruit & Nut Bars. Give them a try! Thanks, and enjoy! -Cascadian Farm

I was thrilled to see your vanilla chip chewy granola bar contained no nuts! I've been looking for a healthy granola bar with no nuts that tasted good for my son who is allergic to all nuts. We got a sample at Whole Foods and he loved it. Then, I noticed it contained maltodextrin. Why would you add something like that to an otherwise great and healthy bar?

Robert Bystrom says:

Dear Friends, Since I cannot find another location to email you, I will use this one since it is directly connected to a product. Years ago, I used to buy your jam. Loved the stuff. Then I began making my own. I stopped by ;your beautiful farm store in Skagit Valley (built by good friends of mine) a few days ago and purchased a couple of jars of your "fruit spread." It tasted vaguely like strawberries and apricots, but was essentially fruit flavored sugar gel. I guess that's what time it is in business. What a loss. Your website has all this smiley, homey organic talk about health and honest food. What a loss. The store is pretty and the women who work there are very friendly. The cookies and coffee were excellent. Too bad about your jam.

John Nielson says:

Why did you change your Purely O's cereal? The photo on the front of the box is not the same as the product you now make. These new O's are starchy and tasteless. Surprisingly, even though it looks like they have more sugar, my son does not like them. Please return to the original recipe. And if you do, please do something to let those of us who are no longer buying your product know (several friends have also quit purchasing it), so we can start buying it again. Thanks!

Karen Salmon says:

I am disappointed. I used to buy your Purely O's because they had no sweetener at all in them. I loved them and ate them plain - like popcorn. What happened. I opened the last few boxes and they all are sweetened. Do you know NO ONE makes an turely unsweetened O - type oat cereal!!! You were the last of a bree, but since you changed your recipe I have no where to go for my dry cereal munch. I was even willing to pay extra for less ( sugar that is). I don't want "1/3 less" or even "only 1 gm", or "nartually sweetened". I want NO sweetener. Can you change back?????

7/20/2010 10:56:06 AM

Kris Hiller says:

I would like to echo what Karen and John have written. I do not like ANY kind of sweetener in my cereal, which is the reason I used to buy and love Purely O's. I was so shocked the day that I opened a box to find that the little O's looked different -- and were sweet! Yuck! Very disappointed that this ceral was stealthily -- no change to the name or picture (yes, the ingredients list was changed, but who reads the ingredients for an old familiar product?) -- changed. It is exceedingly difficult to find unsweetened cereals, even at co-ops and places like Whole Foods, so PLEASE change back to the old unsweetened O's or offer both this sweetened and the old unsweetened version. Thank you!

marian delaney says:

What happened to Purly O's??? I only can eat unsweetend oat cearal because of a health condition. Yours was the only one without sugar. Now you have gone the way of all greed and added sugar. When is the corporate world going to learn one size does not fill all!!! I will neverbuy another cascadian product again.

7/23/2010 1:47:18 PM

Allison says:

I was going to complain that the granola has more sugar -per serving size a reasonable person would eat- than a Hostess cupcake, but after reading the comments and the clueless little corporate robot reply, I see I've wasted my time.

Jo Davis says:

I was totally dismayed when I opened my most recent box of Purely O's to find that they are now sweetened-- however slightly. I pulled the recently emptied box out of the garbage to compare the ingredients list. I'm adding my vote to all those below asking you to change Purely O's back to the no sugar added recipe. I liked them the way they were, and will never buy them again until they have no added sugar/ molasses. I will continue to check the ingredients list. I was also disappointed at how difficult it was to find away to give you feedback on this. I expected your home page to have a "contact us" link.

I have been buying four boxes of the chocolate chip granola bars a week for years, then suddenly they have been pulled from the SuperTarget, Dominicks and Meyers (jewel never had them) - that is all the grocery stores around here. I contacted you guys to ask where to buy them just to get a generic response. Also the "find a product" is wrong on the website - its not there! I have checked. So now i'm stuck eating these ***** quaker oats stuff because i can't find your granola bars, and no one would take the time at your company to look into the issue. Very disappointed. What's a gal have to do to get some granola bars!

How come the stores dont carry the cascadia farms "sweet and salty" granola bars any more but they do the chocolate chip? They dont carry the cinamon raison granols cereal any more but they do another flavor. Those are the only ones I could eat because of allergies. Please bring them back!

I just opened my peanut butter chip chewy granola bar and it was an inch and a half long!!! I am extremely frustrated and ***** with the fact that I always seem to get a granola bar that is gone in one bite. They have dramaticlly decreased in size and still paying an arm and a leg for a product that we are being ripped off on!

I agree with Nicole, why is there maltodextrin in these bars? I just noticed this ingredient so I've had to remove it from my shopping list. Its unfortunate because I love these bars.

Laura says:

Here's a new one. Their vanilla chip chewy granola bars have changed their ingredients from: (1) Rolled oats, (2) Tapioca syrup, and (3) vanilla chips made with cocoa butter to: (1) Tapioca syrup, (2) rolled oats, and (3) vanilla chips made with palm kernel oil! What's going on with you, Cascadian Farms? Can't we trust you any more? You used to be such a great brand! Are profits now more important to you than your customers? Please bring back your old great quality. Your customers read labels and notice these changes!

Very disappointed in your Flax Right w\ pomegranate raspberry clusters. Guess what? NO clusters, what few there are are in the bottom of the bag, so if you want to taste one you have to reach in & try to find it. As I said, very disappointed, no value for the high price.

Your dark chocolate almond granola is the best tasting cereal I've ever eaten, and I've eaten probably literally tons of cereal by now. Am I crazy or what? The last two boxes I bought contained no chocolate. These boxes were purchased at the Publix in Key West, Florida. Did you run a batch that accidentally left out the chocolate?

Just wanted to tell you guys have the best tasting granola bars I have ever had.....My daughter and I's favorite is the chewy chocolate chip. They are out of this work....way better then anyother!

First I would like to tell you how much I enjoy the chocolate chip granola bars (too much so). I can't always find them in my local supermarkets but when I do, I buy more than one box at a time. Today I opened up a box and the bar that I opened had half a bar. I have no idea where the other half went. Perhaps your quality control department should be checking this out.

I, too, was totally disappointed that Purely O's are now sweetened. I sent a comment to "Cascadian Farm" via e-mail, and received a form reply- from GENERAL MILLS!!!!! Aparently Cascadian Farm is now just another name under the corporate umbrella of sugar laden garbage touted as nutritious. When I inquired if there was any chance of changing them back to the old recipe, I recieved no response. They also mailed me coupons so I could buy more of their ****. I threw them in the trash.

It has been so wonderful to have TWO granola bars (vanilla and chocolate) for my son who is allergic to all NUTS. BUT I just read that the two new ingredients added to the chocolate chip chewy granola bar are almond and peanut?? it was so delicious the way it was--but even more so--it was the only delicious granola bar that he and all his nut allergic friends could eat. Anyway to bring it back?? Thanks

Matt says:

As a peanut and tree nut allergic individual, I wanted to thank Cascadian Farms for processing Vanilla and Chocolate Chip granola bars separately from the peanut containing varieties. These granola bars are possibly the only safe and filling "on the go" snack left for those with severe allergies. They are also delicious. Thanks again!

My children love the granola bars (all of the varieties) however this is the third time we've opened a box and there is one less bar than advertised!!!!! Here's the UPC: 2190840676 We feel cheated and it's become an annoyance. Please help us and then do something to prevent this from happening!!!

I love your cereal, but now I have to eat gluten free. The only thing in the cereal that isn't gluten free is the malted barley extract. Could you use molasses or something else instead.

I was surprised when I read the Nutritional Facts on a Multi Grain box. The 13 oz Multi Grain box has "about 12" servings! Is that right? That means 1 oz is a serving. When I looked at boxes of other Cascadian cerials, the serving size on each was about 2 oz (which I think is still on the light side). Is that a misprint

Alan Smith says:

Placed my first order with your company on 02/02/11 for 4 boxes of Organic granola bars. I received an email order confirmation showing my order of the four boxes and no mention of any of them being out of stock or back ordered. I finally received my shipment today with one $5.59 box of bars with $12.05 for shipping and $2.50 for handling bringing the grand total cost of each bar to $3.36 each!! Gee - thanks a lot! When I called to inquire about this issue the lady on the phone was quite rude and condescending. Oh well - sure hope Cascadian Farms is able to do the same thing to all their customers the first time because I doubt very many will return for more *****. I know I won't. After reading all the negative comments regarding the quality and sugar content of their so-called healthy products this may be a blessing in disguise. GOOD RIDDANCE!!

2/8/2011 1:06:19 PM

Pat Heisel says:

I am very disappointed that Cascadian Farms has added sugar to their Purely O's (cheerios cereal). I no longer buy it because of that. If it's called "purely" O's, why isn't it pure? The prevous formula did not list sugar as an ingredient on the package. I wish you would go back to the previous formula. My guess is ingredients have been changed because, like everything else in today's world, it all comes down to the bottom line. If a company changes to less expensive or inferior ingredients, they stand to make more profit...forget about healthy eating.

I always buy jam from health food store thinking it will be natural. Your APRICOT SPREAD is drenched in sugar. Why do Americans want everything so sweet! I had to throw it away. If I select apricot, it's because I expect the taste of apricot. The same thing for marmalade. I will avoid Cascadian Farm in the future.

Three comments. #1 what happened to the peanut and chocolate snack bar that had a strip of chocolate on the bottom? It was so yummy and now I have to buy the kids peanut snack things for something even close. #2 why such a change for the worse with the Honey Nut O's. They taste like nothing now. They used to be crunchy and yummy but now they are bland and mushy. #3 **** the person responsible for making all the bad decisions lately. I have stopped buying the Honey Nut O's ( switched to Greenwise Honey Nut O's ( which have mysteriously disappeared lately off the shelves....) which are not as good as the old Cascadian ones but way better than the new **** ). I have also stopped buying the peanut/chocolate *** snack bars too ( they are just a lame version of the other ones ) . I used to religiously buy a box of each every week. If you guys have plenty of money then hey keep on changing all your good stuff to ****.... Just my taste bud's opinions, Russell
