If you have sketches, drawings, paintings about organic food, farming, gardening, or taking care of our planet - please share them with us! Post them as photos on our Facebook Wall (psst - if you tag yourself, your friends can see it :) so that we can see them too!

Hello, I am so happy to see other people sharing their disappointment in the Purely O's. They were a great healthy choice for my daughter and she loved them! Ironically, when the product changed with the new additives, it was husband who tried them first and said how bad it tasted. Thank goodness I never offered them to my 2 year old daughter. There are other choices in cereal sweetened without sugar, so I will no longer be purchasing this product and am hesitant to buy anything from Cascadian Farm.

Cecilia Halliburton says:

I have been buying Purely-O's for my children for years because it tastes good and it is the only cereal of its kind without any sweeteners. Imagine my surprise when all of a sudden, not only is it toasted less and has less flavour, it is also sweet. My children don't need them to be sweet, they have loved them just as they were. It is important for children to learn to like the flavours of different kinds of foods without trying to boost their interest with unnecessary and unhealthy sweeteners. I am very disappointed and will not be buying this again, or at least not until the recipe is changed back. I would very much like to know why this change was made and the reasoning behind it!

These last few weeks, I was wondering why my cereal tasted so sweet and was going to call Cascadian Farm because I couldn't imagine why something with no sugar was sweet. I was shocked to re-read the label and see that it had, indeed changed. I always bought Purely O's as my ONLY cereal for my family and me because I did not want one with sugar. I cannot believe that they added sugar without making this clear. It really, REALLY is a bad step and I won't be buying them again.

I was so disappointed to find the recipe changed for Purely O's. I do not eat products that have sugar listed as one of the first four ingredients. Taking sugar out of my diet has taken away cravings for the first time in my life. Any way you can go back to the old Purely O's formula?

I too have found the change in the O's which is how I actually got onto this website. I was looking to contact someone at the company. I 've been using these with milk and as snacks for my little boys for over 4 years. I will not buy them any more. There is no reason to add this sugar for my kids. I am extremely disappointed.

I have been eating your Purely O's for several years and enjoying them with my family. About 4 weeks ago, I purchased a box with a May 17, 2010 pull date. The flavor and consistency of the product is completely changed. It is sickeningly sweet and no longer tastes like a relative of Cheerios. How sad.

News is spreading about Cascadian Farm's deceptiveness: They tripled the sugar content of Purely O's, by adding several different sweeteners, without warning parents plainly on the box. The blog "Fooducate" has a posting from Jan 20th, and other blogs are talking about this as well.
